Competition in the Ancient City After 3000 Years!

After 3000 years, competition returned to the Ancient City of Tlos with cycling. Tlos Ancient City, famous for its sports competitions in Seydikemer district of Muğla, experienced the excitement of racing again after 3000 years. The Ancient City of Tlos, one of the important settlements of the Lycian Region, which stands out with its Acrolopolis, Theatre, Basilica, Kronos temple and historical stadium, hosted a sports competition centuries later with the Great Tlos Bicycle Criterium.

44 Athletes Pedal

Big Tlos Cycling Criterium organized under the auspices of Muğla Governorship with the participation of 44 athletes from 4 countries It was held in the Ancient City of Tlos, which is on the temporary list of UNESCO Natural and Cultural World Heritage. The races, in which 44 athletes from 4 countries pedaled in the Youth, Elite and Masters categories, were watched with interest by the citizens in the region.

Athletes Struggled After Centuries strong>

Competitors who competed fiercely in the Great Tlos Cycling Criterium, which was held as 8, 10 and 14 laps on a 1.8 kilometer track, enjoyed pedaling in the mystical atmosphere and magnificent nature of the Ancient City and centuries later in the ancient city of Tlos. He stated that they were extremely happy to take part in a sports competition.

The winners were presented with their awards by Muğla Youth and Sports Provincial Director Musa Kazım Açıkbaş, Seydikemer Deputy Mayor Mustafa Türkan and Ramazan Kaynak gave it.
