Yacht Races Season Opens in Marmaris!
Marmaris will host two important yacht race organizations in September.
For the first time this year, between 9 -10 - 11. The Swallow Cup Yacht Races will be held in Marmaris. The Swallow Cup, whose name is inspired by the swallow birds that migrate to warm climates every year and fly freely, will take place in six races over three days between 9 - 10 - 11 September 2024. Around 20 local and foreign boats and nearly 200 athletes are expected to participate in the races.
In addition, the 17th "Channel Regatta" jointly organized by Marmaris International Yacht Sports Club and Rhodes Open Sea Yacht Club will be held in Marmaris on 13 - 14 - 15 September 2024. The races, which started due to the long-standing friendship between Marmaris International Yacht Sports Club and Rhodes Open Sea Yacht Club, were born from the idea of uniting the two sides of the Aegean Sea. The slogan of the race, which was organized based on the idea of "why shouldn't we race together in our common sea?" of sailors from Marmaris and Rhodes, was "Sailing Together". If it started, it would end in Marmaris. Due to changing economic and social conditions, it was decided to hold the race alternately in Rhodes one year and in Marmaris the other year. Approximately 25 boats and 250 sailors are expected to participate in the 17th races, which will be held in Marmaris this year.
